The Post-Franklin neighborhood block captains organized a successful action on Waste Management to restore trash pick-up in their neighborhood.

Neighbors were complaining that trash was not being picked-up consistently, Waste Management workers were leaving trash throughout the neighborhood, and trash cans were not being replaced on sidewalks in an orderly fashion.

On December 8th, the block captains met with Tim Kelly, Waste Management’s Operations Manager for Calhoun County.  They showed him photographic evidence of the state of the garbage and garbage cans in their neighborhood.  After listening to their concerns, Mr. Kelly promised to address the problems of garbage being left behind and trash cans not being replaced properly, and offered to bring a large dumpster for periodic neighborhood clean-ups free of charge.

Next the Post-Franklin block captains are working to restore a neighborhood watch program in their community.
